Inspired by vintage underwear Alexandre Herchcovitch created very romantic and feminine collection with plenty of handcrafted lace and embroidery. It took him about three months to finish the little black lace dress with the leather petticoat. There are a lot of nostalgic ladylike details such as muttonchop sleeves, scalloped edges, ruffles and crystal embellishments which may be slightly too eccentric for everyday styling, but great for various special occasions.
Most of the pieces from the collection are done in white and beige, but there are also some underwear-like pieces in soft grey. He also used red, dark grey and black, mostly for coats, jackets and dresses.
For this collection Roksanda Ilincic used warm and colorful blanket-like fabrics. They are mixed together in unexpected ways creating a wonderfully vivid winter color palette which includes blue, turquoise, orange, fuchsia, red, orange, purple and brown. Clothes are impeccably tailored and color contrasts are very appealing. She used a lot of patchwork technique to stitch together pieces of fabric in different colors.
Coats and dresses have loose, asymmetric silhouettes that look very comfortable and yet elegant. Even some of the evening dresses are done in wooly fabrics, and they sometimes look like the body is wrapped in a very pretty blanket. The others are made from satin which is embellished with chunky beads.
The collection also features fabulous clutches made out of two-colored wool and flat shoes as well as heels with vintage herring-bone pattern, which she also used for dresses and coats.
Alber Elbaz’s latest collection for Lanvin is casual and relaxed, but also very glamorous with even the sportiest outfits looking elegant and chic. Loose silhouettes, menswear inspired pieces and jogging trousers are matched with feminine details like ruffles, bows and high heels.
From sexy pumps and soft, squishy bags to boyish flat boots and fedora hats, accessories are also a fine mixture between feminine and masculine style. The color palette is pretty glum with plenty of black, grey and navy, but with occasional outbursts of red which looks very smart and modern, just like most of Elbaz’s creations.
Prepare yourself for the festive season and find that perfect dress for Christmas dinner or party. The ideal Christmas dress is probably a red one. It is a trendy color this season anyway, so there are many options from Dolce & Gabbana red satin and lace dresses to Valentino floor-length gowns. Resort collections are also going to reach the shops soon so you can browse through them as well, in order to find that ultimate Christmas dress.
White and gold are also Christmassy colors, but it is always tempting to wear something black simply because it is so elegant. This season’s darkly florals are a great solution for a more formal occasion, as long as there are cheerful colors involved like in Vera Wang or Lanvin collections.
If you are looking for a great party outfit, think of bright colors and shimmery fabrics used by, among others, Christopher Kane and Julien Macdonald. However, Stella McCartney’s pop art 60s style A-line dress with embroidered red lips and matches from her Resort collection is a killer.
Estée Lauder makeup is one of those perfect presents you can never go wrong with. Thinking of Christmas gifts in October is not such a bad idea because now is the opportune moment to brainstorm ideas and start making a list, instead of doing nothing until the very last moment and then just panic.
The face of the new ad campaign for Estée Lauder Christmas 2013 makeup collection is a model Arizona Muse. She is holding luxurious ribbon-tied red boxes and wearing gorgeous fluttery read top teamed with black skirt and a pair of stilettos. It all looks very colorful and Christmassy with a shopping scene from every girl’s dream.
Limited edition Christmas makeup collection will be launched in November and it features five color eye shadow pallets, lip gloss in three hot colors named ‘Hot Cherry’, ‘Melting Sun’ and ‘Fuchsia Flash’, as well as a ‘Poppy Red’ lip pencil. Collection also includes new gorgeous lipstick in dark red and fuchsia which are the hottest lipstick colors of the season.
From Dolce & Gabbana to Burberry, many designers used red for their fall/winter collections. It is certainly one of the hottest colors of the season. Valentino used it along with royal blue and the combination of black and white in his dreamy collection inspired by Flemish artists of the 17th century for elegant romantic dresses, coats, shoes and tiny bags.
There is a lot of red color going on in floral print winter dresses by Givenchy, Roberto Cavalli, Lanvin and Giambattista Valli, while Burberry, Margaret Howell and Christopher Kane decided to go for bold red in their minimalistic design.
Dior red coat with a big bow is definitely a statement piece and one of the ModXchange’s favorites, along with Dolce & Gabbana gorgeous velvet strap shoes with mosaic decorated heels.
As for the beauty trends, red nails are also hot this season, as seen at Valentino, Burberry and Chanel, while burgundy lips are also popular from classic dark red to soft, smudged look.
