Louis Vuitton fall/winter show was the most anticipated one at Paris Fashion Week and it was worth waiting since Nicolas Ghesquiere definitelly managed to redefine the brand . His debut LV collection is very sober, casual and detail oriented. He didn’t have a theme and the idea wasn’t to dazzle us with extravagance, but to create something pragmatic and wearable. Inspired by the history of Louis Vuitton, he worked with leather a lot and the result was extraordinary, since the collection features some truly amazing leather coats, bags, shoes and belts.
Bags were particularly interesting and innovative. Petite-Malle, his small boxy handbag which resemble company’s steamer trunks from nineteenth century immediately became the new “it bag” everybody is talking about. It can be worn as a crossbody bag or a clutch and it comes with removable leather cover. There are several different styles including the one with LV monogram. The brand didn’t create any new bag shapes for a long time and this bag is definitely an important invention for a label that has been making luxury luggage for more than 160 years. It is not a trendy bag but a timeless piece which you will want to wear until the end of your life. Brand’s PR said that the price is “on demand” and it can only be assumed that the waiting list will be very long.
Aside from this gorgeous little bag, Ghesquiere also made some amazing color blocking doctor bags and some of the come with removable covers too. A second layer is a very practical invention to protect the leather and it is also an interesting idea to have a luxury bag covered with a canvas wrapper.
London Fashion Week always surprises us with funny and quirky designs and crazy accessories. It didn’t disappoint us this year since we saw very eccentric accessories from furry royal guard hats by Daks and ruffled headpieces by John Rocha to Burberry personalized blankets.
Christopher Bailey’s accessories were an absolute hit. He showed us a brand new way to wear a printed scarf and painted bags, boots and belts with flower motifs. He also designed some amazing kilim inspired totes and shocked us with a range of colorful blankets with woven initials of models.
Towards the end of week we saw Anya Hindmarch show with kooky bags inspired by British products such as Ariel washing powder, Swan matches, Custard Cream biscuits and even bags of crisps. It was her witty answer to logomania trend which is going to be very popular this year, but there are some cute logotype-free handbags too.
When it comes to shoes, there were plenty of imaginative designs from Emilio de la Morena’s open toe velvet shoes to Sophia Webster colorful heels.
Mulberry canceled showing of their fall/winter collection, but only to stage a presentation of Cara Delvingne’s collection of bags at Claridges during London Fashion Week. Collaboration started immediately after Delevingne casually mentioned that she would like to design a bag for the brand while posing for their spring/summer 2014 campaign. The Mulberry team started working with her immediately.
The key concept behind The Mulberry Cara Delevingne Collection was creating bags that can be worn in all occasions. The result is a collection of three models of handbags bags in three different sizes which have straps and can be worn as backpacks or carried on the shoulder. This clever patent was never used before and it allows you to have one single bag that can be worn in three different ways to match both day and evening outfits.
After the presentation at Claridges Delvingne said that she was happy to design her Mulberry bags rather than just putting her name on somebody else’s creation. She confessed that the first bag she ever had was Mulberry Edie. “Before that it was always fabric bags from India. I loved that bag and wore it to death”, she said.
Valentine’s Day is almost here and it is time to think about presents. Choosing a gift for her seems to be much easier because there is a range of products created especially for Valentine’s Day. From a simple pink lip gloss to fabulous Stella McCartney sweater with lips printed on it, there are plenty of unique gifts to choose from.
However, picking the right present for a man may be a bit of a challenge. A cool gadget is always a good idea and you can either buy a nice iPhone case or a nice watch. The best tip is: don’t go for something cheesy and cute, but rather choose something useful that he will appreciate.

The Kardashian sisters started a collaboration with IMATTA and created their first limited edition collection of luxury sunglasses. They are designed in aviator style and there is only 6,000 pieces in the collection. They come in different colors including pink, blue and gold, and they are available online.
The name of the brand is Kardashian Kollection and it started back in 2011. The designs were exclusively sold at Sears at the beginning, but after a huge success in USA, the label expanded to Australia, UK, Europe, New Zeland, Asia and Middle East. Kim, Kourtney and Khloe are offering a range of products from ready-to-wear and accessories to swimwear and lingerie.
Kardashian aviator glasses come in two sizes and each pair is made from high quality surgical stainless steel. They are gold-plated and offer 100% protection from UVA and UVB rays.
From sporty high heels to romantic floral prints, shoes for spring and summer are very colorful and there are many different trends to choose from. Prada rubber heels come in different colors and they can definitely look both elegant and casual, and the same goes for Alexander Wang’s white strap vinyl shoes which look even more futuristic. Mary Kartantzou also designed some fantastic sporty lace shoes with incredible colorful prints that can be worn with an evening gown or a plain T-shirt matched with a pair of shorts. Valentino flat summer sandals are to die for and Dolce & Gabbana designed some sexy platforms decorated with golden coins.
Metallic accessories are going to be a hugely popular, and if you want to rock this trend, Christopher Kane’s silver stilettos are a very original choice. There are also some amazing metallic heels by Lanvin, and they come with with elegant ribbon around the ankle. Spring/summer collections by Miu Miu, Carolina Herrera and Aquilano Rimondi are featuring some fantastic sandals in vibrant colors, which is another big trend for the forthcoming season, while Alberta Ferretti was inspired by ethnic clothes and designed satin pumps with embroidered flower motifs.
“I want my shoes to be a part of the world for a long time to come”, said Sarah Jessica Parker who’s shoe line called SJP is not going to be neither disposable trend, nor some extravagant luxury which even Carrie Bradshaw couldn’t afford.
But even though her shoes are not going to be as expensive as Manolo Blahnik’s, they were actually made in cooperation with his CEO George Malkemus. When she approached him with the idea to create a shoe line, he immediately accepted to help her and SJP label was born. They decided to produce shoes in Italy and give customers a really good quality and style for less money. All the models will cost between $195 to $485 and will be available in shops from February 28th.
SJP line includes gorgeous elegant heels, but also flat pumps and booties. Even though one can easily imagine Carrie Bradshaw wearing most of them, one nude pair of strap shoes has a special relation to the Sex and The City character and Parker even named them after her – “Carrie”.
Apart from “Carrie”, there is another fantastic pair of shoes from this collection which is probably going to be very popular. They are sexy red pumps called “The Lady”, and Parker is wearing them with a black feathered mini dress in her SJP ad campaign. They are priced at $350 which is a good price for a bit of an authentic Sex and The City glamour.
