Right after showing his menswear collection for Givenchy inspired by basketball at the Fashion Week in Paris, Riccardo Tisci announced his collaboration with Nike. The first images of his basketball sneakers are already unveiled and they look great.

Tisci designed several models of Nike iconic Air Force 1 and even introduced a brand new knee-high model. Before he started working on designs, he did his own research: “I travel all over the world, and I see people wearing the Air Force 1, and they wear it in so many different ways. And so I was thinking, what is the essence of the Air Force 1? And how do I take that essence and make my own statement? For me the Air Force 1 is not about gender, it’s not about a particular city, nor is it about a certain style. The community decides. It’s democratic. It’s love”, he said.

Tisci’s spring 2014 collection for Nike is going to be released in March and will be available in the Nike shops around the world, as well as on Nikelab.com.
