Inspired by Belle Époque era of the 20th century, Jenny Packham’s spring summer 2014 bridal collection features some of the most beautiful wedding dresses that premiered on the catwalk this year. The collection is very romantic with Edwardian loose and yet feminine silhouettes, subtle embellishment and fine draping. Color palette includes ivory, champagne and magnolia, while the selection of fabrics varies from silk to layered chiffon and French lace. The dresses are perfect for a contemporary bride who wishes to wear something both timeless and modern on her wedding day.
Belle Époque is a great theme for a wedding because it is extremely simple and elegant. There is just no danger of being tacky and tasteless. Packham’s latest collection can be very inspirational if you want to design your own wedding gown.
Explaining where she finds an inspiration for her beautiful bridal collections, Jenny Packham says: “I constantly travel the world to source the most unique inspiration for my designs. A glistening piece of vintage jewellery rescued from a flea market in Paris, a beautiful forgotten image from Hollywood’s silver screen that catches my eye in an old world bookshop in Los Angeles, or a detail that stays with me from a painting in a Parisian art deco exhibition.”
