Bright colored berries are not just tasty but also nutritious and healthy. They are rich in fibers, vitamins and minerals, while they are low in fat and carbohydrates. Only one cup of strawberries contains our daily dose of Vitamin C, while the same amount of blackberries holds a daily dose of manganese. Blueberries and strawberries are also rich in Vitamin E.
Since berries are so nutrient-rich and at the same time low in carbs and fat, they are perfect for dieting. They will provide you only with what you need and clean you from the inside, but without making you fat. Since they are rich in fibers and contain plenty of water, they can even help you lose weight and lower your levels of cholesterol.
Berry fruits are also rich in antioxidants which are preventing cells from damage by free radicals. This suggests that berries can actually slow down the aging process. There is even scientific evidence that blueberries, blackberries, strawberries and other berries are beneficial for the brain and are even preventing memory loss. Researches show that berries change the way neurons in the brain communicate which can help improve cognition and motor control.
For all those reasons, a cup of berries is the perfect breakfast. You can ad cereals and yoghurt or just eat them alone. They will fill your stomach so that you don’t feel hungry, feed you with vitamins and minerals, clean you with antioxidants and make your hair and skin glow.
