Another magazine fall 2013 issue brings editorial dedicated to Valentino fall/winter ready-to-wear 2013 collection by Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccoli inspired by serene portraits of women by Johannes Vermeer. It is definitely one of the most beautiful collections of the season featuring 17th century collars, porcelain patterns, royal ermine, Venetian 18th century lace, scalloped edges and fine embroidery teamed with adorable second skin strap shoes and tiny boxy bags.
The editorial is as poetic as the collection itself with gloomy but romantic and peaceful atmosphere of garden at night. Jeff Bark managed to capture the essence of collection by recreating the mood of Vermeer’s paintings: beautiful faces are glowing and dresses are descending into the darkness. The styling for the shooting consists mostly of floor length evening gowns, including the one in black with white collar, red one with white collar, blue and white Delft ceramics inspired dress and the black one covered in embroidered flowers. Stunning A line blue leather dresses with white lace detailing appear on one of the photos as well.
