MOSCOW, Russia – |  February 9, 2011 Mercedes-Benz finalized a deal with title sponsorship of Russian Fashion Week.  The fashion industry lauds the coup with compliment – the event is the largest fashion week in Eastern Europe.  This year, Russian Fashion Week reimaged its prescience with a new name as  M e r c e d e s  –  B e n z   F a s h i o n  W e e k  R u s s i a.  The first fashion week under the new brand name follows a ten year umbrella RFW campaign.

“Mercedes-Benz is title sponsor of Russian Fashion Week”

Russian Fashion Week had been held in Moscow for the last ten years in early April and mid-October. RFW discovers arrays of upcoming and highly-creative designers and has presided with sixty international designers supplementing, inspiring, and promoting Russian fashion.  RFW involvement has garnered unparalleled recognition and interest in Russian designers globally.  The complement of RFW and fashion weeks in Milan, London, Beijing, Athens, Lisbon and other cities have fashioned Moscow into a uniquely ubiquitous European fashion center.

Today, Russian Fashion Week has become a central event for all former Soviet republics – the best designers from the Ukraine, Belarus and other countries present collections at Russian Fashion Week, Moscow.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia embraces fashion weeks in Paris, Milan, and London, Mercedes Benz showcasing its German car brand as partner.  Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week joins Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York as the premier fashion destination must-sees.

“Russia is a fast-growing market for our cars, and Moscow – the next hot fashion destination,” Mercedes-Benz of Russia Juergen Sauer regales. “Our participation in fashion week is vivid proof of these two axioms. The signing of this agreement is a logical development of Mercedes-Benz’s global strategy to support the most important fashion weeks in the world. I’m confident that we can strengthen the potential of Russian Fashion Week, as we did, for example, in New York and Berlin.”

General Producer of Russian Fashion Week, Alexander Shumsky, CEO of Artefact Communications Agency gave summary, “The participation of Mercedes-Benz in RFW will give, in addition to the obvious benefits, an even more acute sense of fashion and style.  For the national “fashion consciousness” and development is it important to be on the same catwalk with the legends and trendy designers, such as participants of the previous RFW – Vivienne Westwood, Jeremy Scott, JC de Castelbajac. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will affirm Moscow’s position on the world fashion map.”

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week invitee-only event was facilitated and negotiated by IMG fashion, MBFW Russia’s commercial representer.  Fall-Winter 2011/2012 collections for Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia opened with Slava Zaitsev Fashion House, along with participants Oleg Biryukov, Tatiana Parfionova, Poustovit, Stella Ndombi, Julia Nikolaeva, St. Bessarion, Olga Samoschenko, Elena Tsokalenko, Yegor Zaitsev and many more.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia is held in Moscow March 31-April 5 and October 21-25, 2011, Spring-Summer 2012 Collections, at the World Trade Center’s Congress-Hall.
